Brianna Gist is a Faculty Research Specialist at ARLIS. She began at ARLIS as a RISC Intern in
strategic communications where she and her group investigated cross-cultural influence. She
received her B.A. in Linguistics from Georgetown University where her undergraduate research
explored French in francophone Africa and political movements in the MENA region. Brianna has
previously worked for the U.S. Department of State - Office of South Sudan & Sudan, the Atlantic
Council’s South Asia Center, and for the Library of Congress. Her expertise centers on sociopolitical
analysis and operations in the information environment, and her research interests include target
audience analysis and mapping, malign influence tactics, and grey-zone warfare. Brianna is proficient
in French and Spanish and is learning Arabic.
