Acquisition & Industrial Security

The Acquisition and Industrial Security (A&IS) mission area helps government sponsors protect critical U.S. technology by creating actionable recommendations to improve supply chain resilience and trustworthiness, including identifying what technologies are critical to protect.

ARLIS supports the uncompromised delivery and sustainment of systems, capabilities and workforces critical to the Defense Intelligence and Security Enterprise by conducting applied research, working with sponsors to mitigate risks and threats to critical supply chains and platforms, and protects the foundational technologies operating these sociotechnical systems.

ARLIS provides capability for identifying and explaining what technologies and supply chains are too critical for the United States to lose and those less important to protect. It uses socio-technical systems and analysis approach, which is based in use case-driven exploration for soliciting stakeholders to identify ideal requirements for solutions, The goal is to recommend solutions that address human, technology and policy considerations by leveraging all-source intelligence collections and systems engineering in its applied research.

Project

As part of a sweeping record-keeping modernization, ARLIS is helping lead the transformation of documents into digital formats. ARLIS is collaborating with OUSD (I&S) to develop strategies for modernizing the declassification process. When complete, technology augmentation will significantly amplify the ability of individuals to examine documents.
