Summer Institute for Hard Security Problems

The ARLIS-run Research for Intelligence & Security Challenges (RISC) Initiative internship is a 10-week program pairing students with mentors from the UMD campus and the Department of Defense (DOD) and Intelligence Community (IC) community. Students are introduced to career opportunities with the DoD and IC as they develop their technical capabilities and subject matter expertise through hands-on real-world problems posed by government operators and supported with realistic data sets and other materials.

The 2021 RISC Internship class is listed below, and their project topics here.
