Ellie Tyler is a Faculty Research Specialist at ARLIS, supporting projects in several different mission areas. She started at ARLIS in 2023 as a RISC Intern where she examined characteristics of emerging technologies that could pose public health security challenges.
Tyler graduated Summa Cum Laude from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and received a B.S. in Clinical Neuroscience with a minor in National Security and Foreign Affairs. During her undergraduate studies, she was involved in research studying music processing in the Alzheimer’s brain using electroencephalography (EEG) and behavioral analysis. Tyler’s other research interests include disruptive technology, artificial intelligence, and warfighter brain health. She hopes to continue exploring the ethical questions and security threats within the intersection of human sciences and technology. She is fluent in Russian and speaks basic Ukrainian.
