The UARC for the Human Domain

As one of fourteen Department of Defense University-Affiliated Research Centers (UARCs) and the only UARC with a core mission to support the government's security and intelligence communities, ARLIS aims to integrate social and behavioral sciences, AI, and computing for new Human Domain applied research and development capabilities.

From the Executive Director

As we enter 2022, ARLIS is transitioning from “start-up” into a robust center of excellence for national security research. The evolving ARLIS represents a new type of University Affiliated Research Center (UARC) for the Department of Defense, with a core team of experts augmented by partners in the ARLIS-led Intelligence and Security University Research Enterprise (INSURE) consortium.

Working with ARLIS

ARLIS aims to establish foundational partnerships with USG entities that leverage our core competencies and advance RDT&E activities in areas of critical need.  ARLIS focuses on applied and translational research for the DoD and IC and provides trusted support to USG program managers and agencies across these communities in areas of national need.
