Jason Swinson
Jason Swinson is a retired Naval officer who joined ARLIS as a Senior Faculty Research Specialist after serving 23 years in the United States Navy’s Nuclear Propulsion Program. Swinson served as the Senior Submarine Program Manager for Naval Reactors Newport News where he worked with Navy Flag Officers and Senior Executives to oversee $30B of Navy submarine acquisition programs. He also served as the Program Manager for Aircraft Carrier Refueling Complex Overhauls and COLUMBIA-class submarine programs. He helped shape the future of the fleet by utilizing program management fundamentals and complex problem resolution to deliver twelve nuclear-powered VIRGINIA-class submarines and four nuclear-powered aircraft carriers to the Navy. He also worked in collaboration with NAVSEA leadership and foreign governments supporting the US/UK interchange and AUKUS programs. During his career, Swinson qualified as a Nuclear Power Research Project Officer, Nuclear Planner, and Master Training Specialist.
