Katherine Forng
Katherine Forng is a Faculty Research Specialist at ARLIS supporting the Acquisition and Industrial Security (A&IS) Mission Area. She focuses on building agent-based, Discrete Event, and System Dynamics models to simulate the outcomes of supply chain behaviors influenced by the presence of compromised/counterfeit goods. Forng has an interest in designing for risk and reliability, life-cycle analysis and system sustainment and hopes to apply her interdisciplinary background in economics and engineering in further research.
Before joining ARLIS, Katherine served as an undergraduate researcher in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Maryland, College Park. She worked to model Supply-Side disruptions on lead times and conducted data analysis on Social Discount Rates with a faculty mentor globally recognized in Technology Obsolescence Management, Electronics Life Cycle Cost, and Parts Selection and Management for Electronic Systems.
