Samuel Miller
Samuel Miller is a Faculty Research Specialist at the UMD Applied Research Lab for Intelligence and Security (ARLIS) supporting the Acquisition and Industrial Security (A&IS) mission area. A recent graduate from the University of Maryland, he is interested in investigating new technologies that utilize existing data to enhance security workflows. He is particularly interested in utilizing the feature-rich information found in human language to make advancements in automated aids for security procedures.
Sam’s background is mainly focused on NLP research. His past research includes leveraging state-of-the-art ML tech to expand existing NLP methods to low-resource languages, investigating cross-lingual transfer of learned information in Deep Neural Networks, and using AI to identify malicious files on a system.
