Sharon Beermann-Curtin
Sharon Beermann-Curtin is a proven leader with over 30 years of expertise in technology development and the transition of innovative solutions to the warfighter. Ms. Beermann-Curtin spent the last 5 years of her government service in the Office of the Secretary of Defense Strategic Capabilities Office (SCO) holding the positions of Acting Director and Deputy Director. She served in the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) in both the Microsystems Technology Office and Defense Sciences Office developing an extensive power and energy portfolio. While working for the Navy she held the position of Chief Technology Officer, Program Executive Office Aircraft Carriers, transitioning new capabilities across the Nimitz and Bush class carriers. She contributed to the US Navy research community as the Acting Deputy Department Head of the Materials and Physical Sciences and Ship Hull Mechanical & Electrical Systems, and as a Program Manager in Underwater Weapons Systems for the Office of Naval Research.
