Lauren Diaz is a Faculty Research Specialist at ARLIS. She earned a Master of Public Health in Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior from the University of South Carolina, Columbia where her practicum work focused on planning and implementing a process evaluation to examine threats to internal fidelity of a hospital-sponsored diabetes prevention program. Since graduating, Lauren has worked as a research analyst with the University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Social Work. In this capacity, Lauren worked on several projects involving youth in foster care and transition-aged youth; crisis response; community-based trauma services; and system of care services.
Over the last 15 years, Lauren has participated academically and professionally in a variety of fields with university-based research being the common focus. Lauren’s experience across many fields of research, including her time spent as a research assistant at Syracuse University’s School of Architecture and her professional work as a project coordinator for childhood obesity prevention research at the Arnold School of Public Health at the University of South Carolina, Columbia, informs the unique perspectives she brings to ARLIS.
