David Price has been named Director of Operations at the Applied Research Laboratory for Intelligence and Security (ARLIS), at the University of Maryland.
Price joined ARLIS in May 2023 as the Director of Post Award Finance and Project Administration. In that role, he was responsible for ARLIS’s financial processes, budgeting, reporting and sponsored project management. In his new role, Price will continue to lead the financial function, work on reducing administrative burden wherever possible and build a plan that supports ARLIS’s recent and future growth. These administrative improvements and teams are necessary to enable ARLIS to be agile and responsive to the needs of the Department of Defense.
Price has considerable private sector experience from the medical device industry, where he worked domestically and internationally and managed profit and loss in hundreds of millions of dollars per year. Immediately prior to joining ARLIS, he was the Senior Director of Sales Operations and Financial Planning and Analysis for Lucira Health, acquired by Pfizer. In this role, he started the contracting, sales compensation, and data analytics functions and built the business systems for these groups. While at Lucira, he and his team supported the company’s growth from $15M a quarter to $100M a quarter.
He earned his Master of Business Administration in Finance from The University of Florida and Bachelor of Arts in Economics from New College of Florida.
