I am currently a student who has a BS (North Carolina A&T State U) and an MS (Georgia Tech) in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in Digital Signal Processing. I left the ‘hard’ sciences to then obtain an MA (Temple University) in African American Studies. It was in pursuit of this degree that I fell in love with Psychology; specifically, the social-cognitive approach to analyzing media effects. This led to my pursuit of a PhD (University of Southern California) in Social Psychology, with an emphasis on interactive media effects in health promotion. After a brief professional interlude (impacted by COVID-19), I have now returned to academia and back to STEM education; as a 1st-year PhD student in Computer Science at Howard University.
