Ray Boatwright is the Director of Computational and Information Systems at ARLIS, currently working on research-related infrastructure and IT support. He has 25 years of experience working in the enterprise IT space working in commercial and classified areas. Prior to joining ARLIS, Boatwright was the VP of Product Security, Compliance and Operations for Privoro. That role supported the deployment and management of secure cellular phone management for various government agencies. He attended the University of Central Florida and the University of North Florida focusing on Computer Science.

PROFESSIONAL HIGHLIGHTS

  • Supported the ATO and support deployment for AWS air-gapped region for the Intelligence Community - C2S Top Secret AWS Region
  • Innovated live streaming technology for America Online to allow for real-time streaming of NASCAR telemetry data for live racing application
  • Supported and designed the deployment architecture for a streaming media server invented by AOL that was embedded into an FPGA on Extreme Networks Black Diamond network systems
  • Designed a compiled a custom version of the SUSE linux kernel to run a system of automated live video encoders for the first live-streaming TV show produced in the US
  • Designed and deployed a load-balanced ZFS-backed CIFS file share using a SUNX4500 (Thumper) that was deployed as the standard Windows file share product for XM Radio. (Replaced expensive EMC and IBM solutions)
