Initiatives

Security professionals now have a way to become certified in preventing insider threats through the Global Counter Insider Threat Professional (GCITP) Program. This program has been formally launched through the University of Maryland Applied Research Laboratory for Intelligence and Security (ARLIS), in partnership with the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security (OUSD (I&S)). This Counter-Insider Threat program is the first C-InT certification program developed and made available to both government and private industry professionals.

ARLIS launched the Intelligence and Security University Research Enterprise (INSURE) to expand the talent base and stakeholder reach required to advance its mission to serve as a national resource for the Defense Intelligence and Security Enterprise.

In 2020, ARLIS launched the Research for Intelligence & Security Challenges (RISC) initiative to help fill the deficit of government employees needed to address today’s intelligence and security challenges, particularly those with training in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields and rigorous research-driven analysis.
